Ukraine not planning to revise provisions of Association Agreement with EU - Azarov
Ukraine is not planning to revise the provisions of an Association Agreement with the European Union, and the terms of the implementation of this agreement are important to it, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.
"We don't currently set the task of revising the agreement. The terms of the implementation of the agreement are important to us," he said during a teleconference with Ukrainian regions on Wednesday.
Azarov said that the Ukrainian authorities had been forced to suspend preparations for the signing of the agreement. He said that during the talks this will help minimize the risks for domestic enterprises from the creation of a free trade area with the EU.
He said that trilateral talks between Ukraine, Russia and the EU on this subject are also very important.
Azarov noted that during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on December 24 the Russian side had again confirmed its readiness to participate in such negotiations.
