Yanukovych congratulates European Parliament president on his birthday

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has congratulated European Parliament President Martin Schulz on his birthday.

"I am confident that your credibility and experience will help increase the achievements of European integration for the benefit of the peoples of the European Union and further develop relations between Ukraine and the EU," reads a letter of congratulations released by the press service of the Ukrainian president.

Yanukovych wished Schulz good health and success in his responsible work.

Schulz was born in 1955. He is a German politician and a member of the Party of European Socialists. He has been an MEP since 1994. He was European elected Parliament president on January 17, 2012.
