European Commission not confirming Arbuzov's visit to Brussels on December 11
The European Commission has not confirmed a visit by Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov to Brussels, which was earlier announced by President Viktor Yanukovych, in order to hold a dialogue on the Association Agreement.
"Today there no such visit [has been agreed]," the European Commission told Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday morning.
As reported, on December 10, Yanukovych said at a roundtable with three former Ukrainian presidents on overcoming the political crisis that a group of negotiators led by Arbuzov would hold talks in Brussels on December 11. On The same day, the European Commission said that such a visit was not on the agenda. Early on December 11, First Deputy Head of Ukraine's Presidential Administration Iryna Akimova said that the visit scheduled for this day would be held.
