Yanukovych spits in the face of EU, U.S., millions of Ukrainians - Yatseniuk
The events that happened on Independence Square early on Wednesday morning were "a spit in the face" of EU member countries, the United States and millions of Ukrainians by Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, Batkivschyna faction leader Arseniy Yatseniuk said.
"He [Yanukovych] spit in the face of America, EU countries and 46 million Ukrainians and we will not forgive that; he won't get away with it," Yatseniuk said from the Euromaidan stage.
"Thousands came here today; there were hundreds yesterday and there will be millions tomorrow, and the Yanukovych regime will fall," the Batkivschyna leader said.
The decision to clear Maidan of protesters was made on the day of the arrival in Ukraine of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland, Yatseniuk said.
