Kravchuk, Kuchma hint to Yanukovych that premier's resignation may be way out of crisis
Former Ukrainian presidents Leonid Kravchuk (1990-1994) and Leonid Kuchma (1994-2004) have hinted to current President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych that the resignation of the premier might be a possible way out of the crisis.
During the meeting of four presidents of Ukraine in Kyiv on Tuesday, Kravchuk noted that when he was a parliamentary speaker, students also held a rally, after which a special sitting was held on the demands of the protesters, and the parliament took a resolution.
"And then the premier resigned by himself. By the way, it doesn't often happen, when the applications are written voluntary, without waiting for somebody to push you," he said.
Kuchma, in turn, said that when he was a premier he experienced voluntary resignation.
Talking about ways out of the present situation, Kuchma said: "Society now is waiting for a signal from the president."
