NATO envoy asks Ukrainian govt, opposition to refrain from violence
NATO Deputy Secretary General Alexander Vershbow has called on the Ukrainian authorities and the opposition to refrain from violence and to engage in a political dialogue.
"NATO continues to follow Ukrainian events with concern," the U.S. diplomat wrote on Twitter on Tuesday, following an ambassadorial meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission.
NATO calls "on all to refrain from violence, engage in a political dialogue," he wrote.
"At the NATO-Ukraine Commission, all agreed that Ukraine's future lies with Europe," Vershbow added.
