Court gives demonstrators five days to unblock administrative buildings

State enforcement officers have arrived at the building of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and announced a ruling by Kyiv's Shevchenkivsky District Court that bans the blocking of administrative buildings.

An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that acting Kyiv Police Chief Valeriy Mazan was present during the announcement of the ruling. He told reporters that the ruling must be executed within five days, or the police would take measures to fulfill the court ruling.

Several hundred demonstrators met an enforcement officer and police officers quite aggressively, shouting "Shame!"

Mazan told journalists and protesters that the blocking of buildings is a violation of the law and that the ruling, according to which they have to unblock administrative buildings, must be fulfilled.

Mazan was repeatedly asked whether the police will use force to disperse the protesters after the expiration of a five-day period from the date of the ruling issued on December 4, but he declined to answer this question.

"They [the protesters] should ensure the operation of government institutions," he said.
