Ukraine opposition leader claims U.S. assistant secretary of state plans to visit Kyiv's Independence Square
Arseniy Yatseniuk, leader of the Batkivschyna opposition party's parliamentary faction, claims that U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland and a number of European political figures plan to come on Thursday to Independence Square in the center of Kyiv, where pro-EU protests continue.
"Yesterday several foreign ministers from European Union countries visited our Independence Square, and the U.S. assistance secretary of state and the UK minister of state for Europe will come to our rally today. Today we will hold several meetings, including with the foreign minister of Sweden and the foreign minister of Poland," Yatseniuk said at a press briefing on Thursday.
