Azarov: EU ready to consider compensating Ukraine for Association deal
Premier of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said that the European Union has agreed to consider financial compensation for Kyiv.
"The Ukrainian president held a long telephone conversation with European Commission President Jose Manual Barroso in my presence yesterday. We agreed that we will continue the talks on the terms of concluding an Association Agreement and on the Free Trade Area. The European Commission and the European Union have agreed to consider financial compensation for Ukraine," he told the Ukrainian parliament on Tuesday.
A Ukrainian delegation will go to the talks next week, he said. The prime minister's speech accompanied by continued chanting by the "Ukraine" opposition faction deputies.
