Lviv Mayor says no force will be used against Lviv protesters
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy pledges no force will be used against local Euromaidan protesters and the local authorities will provide assistance to Lviv residents who became victims of a crackdown on Euromaidan protesters on Kyiv's Independence Square in Kyiv in the early hours of Saturday.
"Those who have beaten young men and women on the Euromaidan [in Kyiv] are not humans. What were my actions? I talked to the Euromaidan's Lviv coordination center. People are facing legal problems ‒ they've lost belongings, money and documents during that massacre. Some people will have to go back to the city today. We'll help them," the mayor wrote on his Facebook page on Saturday.
"As for the information that additional riot police units are heading for Lviv ‒ I've got no confirmation of it. But I'd like to warn: if someone plans to arrange a similar massacre in Lviv, they will face not only several thousand students who are now participating in Lviv's Euromaidan events, but the entire city of Lviv," the mayor said.
