Some 35 people seek help from doctors, seven hospitalized after violent dispersal of opposition rally – Kyiv chief doctor
Thirty-five people have asked for medical aid following a forcible dispersal of a rally of supporters of Ukraine's integration with Europe on the Independence Square in Kyiv, Anatoliy Vershyhora, the chief surgeon of the Kyiv city emergency medicine service, has said.
"Thirty-five people have addressed us in the past 24 hours, whom medical aid has been provided," Vershyhora said at a briefing on Saturday.
Twenty-one of these people were taken to hospitals, and seven of them were hospitalized, Vershyhora said. Some of these people have already been discharged by now, he said.
In addition, there were nine calls for ambulance services from the Shevchenkivsky district police department, Vershyhora said. Seven people were taken to hospitals, and two of them were hospitalized, he said.
Most of those injured had bruises and abrasions; one person sustained a head injury and another is feared to have suffered a bone fracture, he said.
