Tymoshenko to be returned to prison, says her ally
First Deputy Head of Batkivschyna Party Oleksandr Turchynov has said that the authorities are planning to transfer former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko from Central Clinical Hospital No. 5, where she is undergoing medical treatment, back to prison.
"According to our information, which we receive from the presidential administration, a decision has been taken despite the unresolved health problems of Yulia Tymoshenko's, and the operation, which Tymoshenko needs and which has not been conducted, [and] there are plans to return the opposition leader to Kachanivska penal colony," he said at a press conference on Friday.
Turchynov said that according to his information this would happen soon.
"The transfer to Kachanivska colony would mean that Tymoshenko, who has long been in hospital and needs immediate surgery, will be completely unable to receive treatment" he said.
"We demand that the civilized world should apply sanctions against the officials, the law enforcers and the Ukrainian politicians who are directly involved in political repression," Turchynov said.
