Tymoshenko calls on EU leaders to sign agreement with Ukraine if Yanukovych makes such decision – statement
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has called on European leaders to sign the Association Agreement with Ukraine if Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych makes such decision, without putting forward any conditions.
"If under big pressure of Ukrainians' uprising at all EuroMaidans [rallies in support of the country's European integration] in Ukraine and all over the world Yanukovych decides to sign the agreement at the last moment on November 29 - and there is a scanty hope for this based on an authoritarian leader's fear of the people's rebellion - if Yanukovych makes a positive decision, I am asking you to sign the agreement on Friday without any doubts and conditions, including my release," Tymoshenko said in an appeal to European leaders that was read aloud by the ex-premier's daughter Yevhenia Tymoshenko following her meeting with her mother at Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 in Kharkiv.
