Ukraine to sign agreement with EU when sides agree on normal economic conditions – Yanukovych
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said that Ukraine will sign the Association Agreement with the EU as soon as the sides agree on normal economic conditions.
"We will do the utmost to make Ukraine's economy stronger…to improve our life year by year and to make the country competitive. As soon as we reach the level that is comfortable for us and when it meets our interests and we agree on normal conditions, then we will discuss the signature," Yanukovych said in an interview with Ukrainian TV journalists part of which was shown on the 1+1 Channel on Tuesday.
The president stressed that the EU in 2010 proposed EUR 610 million for technical assistance to Ukraine, but demanded that the country sign an agreement with the IMF.
Yanukovych also said that he wants to sign the agreement as soon as possible.
