Kyiv-Mohyla Academy students go on strike to support EuroMaidan rally
Students of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy have gone on a strike to support the EuroMaidan rally in support of Ukraine's signing an association agreement with the EU.
The academy's students will not attend lessons until Monday. They also set up a strike committee.
The Maidan 2013 section was created on the official Web site of the academy. It includes videos of the rally in Kyiv, as well as a statement that over 500 students, faculty and staff of the university took part in a mass rally on European Square in support of Ukraine's European integration on November 24.
A statement about the declaration of a student strike was posted on the Facebook page of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
It also notes that President of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Serhiy Kvit asked the deans, and the latter asked professors to support the gatherings of students.
