Fear of Russia forcing EU to sign Association Agreement with Ukraine – MP Lytvyn
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense Volodymyr Lytvyn (independent MP) has said that the European Union is ready to sign the Association Agreement with Ukraine in Vilnius because of its dislike of Russia.
"I think the European Union is ready to finally sign the agreement in Vilnius on November 28-29 this year," Lytvyn wrote on his page on Facebook.
The EU is ready to make such decision "not because of irresistible love for Ukraine, but because of dislike and even fear of Russia," he said.
The EU's "opposition to Russia appeared to be stronger than its tiredness of Ukraine," Lytvyn said.
He also criticized the long-lasting negotiation process between the majority and opposition parliamentary factions regarding the adoption of the bills necessary for the signing of Ukraine's agreement with the EU to go ahead.
