Ukrzaliznytsia ready to put on 20 extra trains for holidays if necessary
State Railways Administration Ukrzaliznytsia is ready to put on about 20 additional trains for holidays if necessary, the railways' deputy director, Pavlo Chekalov, has said at a press conference in Kyiv.
According to him, the railways have put on 13 additional trains, except for basic year-round trains.
"If necessary, we can provide 60,000-70,000 additional seats for holidays [260,000 seats have been provided]. We will carry out and bring back all wishing passengers," he said.
According to Chekalov, most places in trains for holidays are sold for western directions (the Carpathians, Zakarpattia).
He added that about 55% of all tickets for holidays were sold via the Internet.
