Ukraine, Azerbaijan should join efforts in shipment of oil and gas to Europe, says Yanukovych
Ukraine and Azerbaijan should unite efforts in shipping oil and gas to Europe, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.
"Cooperation in the energy sector is among our priority issues, and our countries have everything necessary to unite efforts in the shipment of hydrocarbons to Europe," Yanukovych said after Ukrainian-Azerbaijani talks in Kyiv on Monday.
The cooperation in this matter will help strengthen the position of Azerbaijan and Ukraine in the Black Sea/Caspian region, the president said.
Yanukovych said Ukraine is a reliable transporter of energy resources, while Azerbaijan is a reliable supplier.
He added that during the talks, which were held in Kyiv on Monday, cooperation in large-scale infrastructure projects was discussed.
