Odesa Mayor Oleksiy Kostusev has resigned from his post.
A respective announcement was published on the Web site of Odesa City Council at 1340.
Kostusev was born on June 29, 1954 in Nevelsk on Sakhalin Island, the son of a naval officer and border guard. He spent his childhood and youth in Odesa.
He was a people's deputy of Ukraine.
In June 2001, he was appointed chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, which he led for over seven years. In April 2010, the Verkhovna Rada again appointed Kostusev as chairman of the committee.
On October 31, 2010, he won the mayoral election in Odesa.
