The situation with payments for Russian gas by Ukraine is critical, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said during an intercom meeting on measures to strengthen payment discipline in the sphere of gas supplies.

"Statements, a reaction, have already appeared on Ukraine's part. They are saying there are problems with payment for gas, but that they are not critical. But I consider there are problems with payment for gas and that they are critical," Medvedev said.
