Popov: First land auction in Kyiv could be held in early 2014
Kyiv hopes to hold the first land auctions in early 2014, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov has said.
"Our budget potential increases chances that we will regain our right to conduct land auctions, a moratorium on which was imposed in recent years. This will help us attract investment in the implementation of various projects and replenish our budget," he said in an interview with the Segodnya newspaper, which was published on Saturday.
He said that the list of land plots for sale had been drafted and that they had passed a bureaucratic stage of preparation.
"I think that we'll hold the first auction at the beginning of next year and that we'll get the first funds [from the sale of land plots]," Popov said.
