Pinchuk: Over 25,000 people attend nationwide memorial march
Party of Regions MP Andriy Pinchuk has said that according to rough estimates, over 25,000 people participated in a nationwide march commemorating the 69th anniversary of Ukraine's liberation from the Nazi forces arranged by the Party of Regions.
"The 69th anniversary of Ukraine's liberation from the Nazis is a really significant event for our country. At that time, in 1944, Ukraine was really freed from the brown plague, and we have to remember that," the press service of the Party of Regions quoted Pinchuk as saying on Saturday.
He said that the march in Kyiv had been attended by representatives of all regions of the country.
"Today's event on European Square is not a political rally. It's a rally in memory of those who freed Ukraine from fascist invaders in 1944. And on this day we have to bow to the veterans for their great feat, and to thank those who worked in the rear for the front, bringing the long-awaited Victory Day closer," he said.
