Azarov: Kyiv, Moscow want to build bridge across Kerch Strait
Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said that Russia and Ukraine are interested in the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait.
Speaking at the opening of the fourth International Black Sea Economic Forum at the Livadia Palace on Thursday, he said that at a recent meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev the latter himself raised the issue of the construction of a bridge through the Kerch Strait.
"Medvedev on his own initiative raised the issue of returning to the subject of building a bridge between Crimea and the Russian part of the North Caucasus. This is an extremely important transport facility, which will be very important to the development of both Georgia and Turkey, and will open traffic flows to Asia," Azarov said.
He also added: "I think that both we and Russia want this difficult and large-scale project to be implemented."
