Ukrainian president's administration receives 53 requests for pardoning Tymoshenko in 2013
The Ukrainian presidential administration has received 53 requests for pardoning former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko this year.
The presidential administration told this to Tyzhden.ua in response to a relevant query.
"According to the information from the pardon affairs department of the presidential administration, they received 1,584 requests to pardon 1,326 convicts from January 1 to October 20, 2013. Among them are 53 requests to pardon former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko," the presidential administration said.
Decisions to pardon eight convicts were made during this period, the administration said.
The secretariat also registered an appeal by European Parliament observers Aleksander Kwasniewski and Pat Cox on pardoning Tymoshenko.
