Chechetov says Tymoshenko indirectly admits her guilt through her treatments of judicial authorities

Only Yulia Tymoshenko is responsible for the outcome of her case in the courts, MP from the Regions Party Mykhailo Chechetov has said, commenting on a statement by the ex-premier's defense lawyer, Serhiy Vlasenko, that his client learned about her alleged refusal to go to court only from the press.

"The sooner she finishes her affairs at the courts, the sooner she demonstrates the initiative and desire to leave the place she is in, the sooner the issue will be resolved," the press service of the Regions Party quotes Chechetov as saying.

"How could consideration of the case on the activities of UESU close, when Tymoshenko won'f go to court for some far-fetched reason? A week ago she was trying to convince us that she was striving as hard as she could to be present during the trials, and she simply isn't let in for the sitting. Today, she again refused to be present at a sitting, and then she presented herself as a victim. In other words, she just muddies the waters, creating the impression of being an inadequate person," he said.

The MP said such behavior by the defendant was a provocation, and such a position of the ex-premier was circumstantial evidence of her guilty.

The party's press service noted that Vlasenko reported on Monday that Tymoshenko had not refused to be delivered to the premises of the court of appeals where hearings of the case about violations in the work of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine was held, but simply didn't know about the need to be present in court.

State Penitentiary Service stated that the ex-premier refused to participate in the court hearing, and Kyivsky District Court of Kharkiv ruled "it impossible to consider the case in the absence of the defendant" and postponed consideration of the criminal proceedings until October 25.
