Yanukovych to speak at plenary meeting of UN General Assembly, presidential advisor says

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych will make a working visit to New York (the United States) on September 23-25, where he will participate in the 68th session of the UN General Assembly, the presidential press service has reported, with reference to Andriy Honcharuk, an advisor to the head of state and the head of the main department of international relations.

He said that during his visit, Yanukovych would speak at a plenary meeting of the 68th session of the UN General Assembly during general debates devoted to the formation of the UN post-2015 development agenda.

The head of state will also attend an official reception hosted by U.S. President Barack Obama and an official lunch hosted by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

In addition, Honcharuk said that in New York the Ukrainian president plans to hold a series of meetings with the leaders of foreign states, the heads of EU institutions and international organizations, as well as representatives of U.S. companies operating in Ukraine.

It is envisaged that the president will be interviewed by a leading U.S. news agency, Honcharuk said.
