PACE President: Ukraine is full member of European society, everybody will benefit from signing of Association Agreement
On September 20, an international workshop entitled "Legal support for the efficient implementation of decisions and application of ECHR practice" took place at the National University Odesa Law Academy.
As the press service of Regions Party MP Serhiy Kivalov reported on Friday, among the participants are leadership and members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), judges of Strasbourg, and representatives of the judicial system of Ukraine, legal sciences and practices.
"This is the second conference we have held at such high level. We're conducting it jointly with the Verkhovna Rada committee on the rule of law and justice and the southern regional scientific center of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine," the MP said.
During the conference PACE President Jean-Claude Mignon commented on the possible signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.
"There will be a summit in Vilnius in November. It will be a historic event for Ukraine. Both Ukraine and the EU have worked hard over the draft Association Agreement. This agreement is beneficial for everybody. I'm very glad that as a result of our discussions an action plan has been elaborated that I hope will lead to visa regime liberalization. Because Ukraine is a very important partner for the Council of Europe and, certainly, a full member of the European society," Mignon said.
