Chernovetsky spends UAH 1.5m on Chaika car owned by Scherbytsky
Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky has spent UAH 1.5 million on a GAZ 14 Chaika (produced in 1979) - a luxury car owned by Volodymyr Scherbytsky, the first secretary of the central committee of the Communist Party of the Ukrainian SSR.
The starting price of the car was UAH 100,000.
An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported that Chernovetsky and Viktor Pylypyshyn, the head of the city's Shevchenkivsky district administration, were the main bidders for this lot, which was auctioned in front of the Kyiv city administration on Friday.
