President of the German National Olympic Committee and IOC Vice-President Thomas Bach, 59, has been elected as new president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The voting was held during the 125th session of the IOC in Buenos Aires on Tuesday.
Bach left behind Vice-President of the International Association of Athletics Federations Serhiy Bubka, vice-presidents of the IOC Richard Carrion and Ser Miang Ng, President of the International Boxing Association Ching-Kuo Wu, and President of the International Rowing Federation Denis Oswald.
Jacques Rogge headed the IOC during recent 12 years.
