Kyiv shouldn't have to choose between Moscow, Brussels because of Association Agreement, says Rompuy
The Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU should not damage the long-standing relations between Ukraine and Russia and force Ukraine to make a choice, European Council President Herman Van Rompuy has said.
"Ukraine, Armenia, Moldova, which are important to both of us [Moscow and Brussels], should choose their way. We think that the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU should not cause damage to Ukraine's long-lasting relations with Russia," Rompuy said at a meeting with students of the European University in St. Petersburg on Thursday.
