Kyiv residents to present pink elephant balloon to city mayor as a symbol of 'empty promises'
Supporters of the New Kyiv public association are planning to inflate a four-meter tall pink elephant hot air balloon on Independence Square on Saturday - a symbol of "empty promises" made by city officials to local residents.
The organizers said that the show entitled "Kyiv Residents Writing a Letter to Sultan Chernovetsky " would be held as part of the event at 1200. Everybody will have a chance to tell city officials about the problems of Kyiv and its residents and remind Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky and his team of their broken promises.
The event will end at 1330, when its participants will march with the pink elephant balloon along Khreschatyk Street, from the building of the city's main post office to the building of Kyiv City State Administration. The city mayor is expected to attend the event near the city administration, where he will receive the elephant as a present, as well as the letter to "Sultan Chernovetsky."
