Klitschko tells WBC president about his intention to run for Ukraine's presidency in 2015
Leader of the UDAR party, WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko intends to run for president of Ukraine in 2015, according to the Web site of the World Boxing Council (WBC).
During a meeting with WBC President Jose Sulaiman in Mexico, the boxer said that he wanted to keep participating in politics and run for the presidency of his country in 2015.
Klitschko said that boxing had greatly helped prepare him for this politics due to the strategy, work, discipline, dedication honesty and team work ethics, which are essential to be successful.
The UDAR party leader said that the most important task was to improve the lives of Ukrainians through a more efficient economy, modernization, more jobs and better opportunities for the future.
The champion also said he would not be able to hold his mandatory fight against Bern Stiverne on the scheduled date, as he had hurt his right hand in training.
Klitschko is the leader of the UDAR faction in the Verkhovna Rada.
