Moscow region co to provide 40 trains to Kyiv metro

OJSC Metrovagonmash in Mytischi, Moscow region, which is part of Transmashholding, has signed a deal to supply eight trains to the Kyiv metro, Transmashholding said in a press release.

It will supply 81-717.5М/714.5М type trains, providing a total of 8 five-car trains (40 cars) by the end of 2013.

Kyiv metro has 774 cars, of which Metrovagonmash supplied around half. The most recent delivery was made in 2010 and consisted of 42 cars.

Metrovagonmash is a major metro-car manufacturer in Russia. It also produces buses.
