Tymoshenko has right to fair trial, proper treatment, says German foreign minister
Application of selective justice, in particular in respect to former premier of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko is unacceptable in the European system of values, German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle has said.
"It is important that selective justice should not be applied in the European system of values. This should not happen either in Ukraine or in Europe. Putting an end to such selective justice is symbolic," he told reporters in Kyiv on Friday.
Westerwelle said that Tymoshenko has the right to fair trial and proper medical treatment. He added that Germany's offer to take the ex-premier for treatment still stands.
