Cox, Kwasniewski to come to Ukraine in late June, says EU ambassador
The heads of the European Parliament's monitoring mission, former president of the European Parliament Pat Cox and former President of Poland Aleksander Kwasniewski, will come to Ukraine on June 26-28, EU Ambassador to Ukraine Jan Tombinski has said.
"They intend to come to Ukraine on June 26-28," he told reporters in Kyiv on Thursday.
As reported, the European Parliament mission to Ukraine headed by Cox and Kwasniewski started monitoring court proceedings involving former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko on June 11, 2012 under an agreement between Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and European Parliament President Martin Schulz.
Their mandate was subsequently expanded to include the court proceedings involving Ukraine's former Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko and former Acting Defense Minister Valeriy Ivaschenko.
