Rise Up, Ukraine! Rally in Mykolaiv passes without incidents, say police
No incidents were registered during a rally held in the frames of the opposition's Rise Up, Ukraine! Campaign in Mykolaiv on Thursday, a public relations department of the Interior Ministry's branch in Mykolaiv region reported.
According to the police, some 1,500 people took part in the rally.
Some 60 law enforcement officers and 20 servicemen of the Interior Ministry's internal troops were policing the streets during the rally. Law enforcers prevented gross violations of public order, the press service of the police said.
As reported, the opposition started its Rise Up, Ukraine! Campaign in the middle of March and planned to finish it in Kyiv on May 18. However, the opposition then decided to continue the campaign.
At the same time, UDAR Party leader Vitali Klitschko said on June 11 that the opposition's Rise Up, Ukraine! Campaign should be suspended for summer season.
