All schools should be repaired by start of new academic year, says Azarov

All schools should be repaired by the beginning of the upcoming academic year, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"We need to expand the repair and overhaul of educational institutions. We should do everything possible so for repairs to be done efficiently and on time. We should not think that summer has just begun and there is still a lot of time," the premier said opening a government meeting on Wednesday.

He ordered the Education and Science Ministry and the services that supervise technical and sanitary conditions in schools to conduct thorough checks.

According to Azarov, all problems with centralized water supply, equipment of sanitary facilities and canteens at schools should be solved by the start of the new academic year.
