State Penitentiary Service: No legal grounds for Tymoshenko's short-term visit to sick mother
The request by former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to be granted a short-term visit to see her sick mother has been considered, but there are no legal grounds to satisfy this request, First Deputy Head of the State Penitentiary Service Serhiy Sydorenko has said live on Channel 5.
"The Criminal Executive Code, which defines grounds and procedures for the use of short-term visits, shows that today there are no legal grounds to provide such a short-time visit," he said.
"In this case, this request has been considered. I emphasize once again that there are no legal grounds in accordance with the Criminal Executive Code," he said.
