Communist Party leader proposes parliament take decision on referendum on Ukraine's accession to Customs Union
The leader of the Ukrainian Communist Party, Petro Symonenko, has proposed that the Ukrainian parliament take a decision on holding a national referendum on Ukraine's accession to the Customs Union.
"Let us, the Verkhovna Rada, make a decision or turn together to the president and hold a referendum in November on Ukraine's accession to the Customs Union. Let's take a decision of the Verkhovna Rada," he said at a meeting of the conciliatory council of heads of parliamentary factions and committees in Kyiv on Monday.
He said that the Verkhovna Rada should give the Ukrainian people an opportunity to express their opinion on this matter.
