Party of Regions representative Ilash elected mayor of Yalta
Party of Regions representative Serhiy Ilash has been elected mayor of Yalta according to the preliminary results of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine (CVU).
A representative of the Crimean branch of the CVU, Andriy Krysko, told Interfax-Ukraine that with about 50% of the votes counted, about 40% of local residents voted for Ilash and 11% supported his rival, self-nominee Oleksiy Yakovenko.
At the same time, the Crimean branch of the CVU claimed that the election of the mayor of Yalta was rigged in the last four hours of voting. As of 1800, the extremely low turnout unexpectedly rose, although CVU observers did not record high turnout.
