Party of Regions representative Volodymyr Sabadash elected mayor of Vasylkiv
Party of Regions representative Volodymyr Sabadash has won the mayoral election in Vasylkiv (Kyiv region) following a parallel vote count by observers from the Opora Civil Network, reads a statement posted on the network's Web site.
According to the statement, 30.39% of the electorate, or 3,395 people, voted for Sabadash.
UDAR Party candidate Serhiy Sabov took second place, with 28.25% of the vote (3,155 votes), and former Vasylkiv Mayor Valeriy Popovych, who was nominated by the Yednist (Unity) Party, finished third, with 26.382% of the vote (2,947 votes).
The results of the parallel vote count are based on the figures received from precinct election commissions, which were reflected in their original protocols.
