Ukraine-EU amended visa facilitation agreement to enter into force on July 1, says Foreign Ministry
The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has said that the amended visa facilitation agreement with the European Union will come into force on July 1, 2013.
"The agreement will enter into force on July 1 this year," Acting Director of the Ministry's Information Policy Department Yevhen Perebyinis said.
He noted that on Wednesday in Brussels the parties exchanged official notices about the completion of all the procedures necessary for the entry into force of this document.
According to the adopted amendments to the existing agreement, nine more categories of Ukrainian citizens will be able to obtain Schengen visas under the simplified procedure, including drivers engaged in international cargo and passenger transportation, representatives of international organizations, and the technical staff of the mass media.
