Belgorod shooter refuses to testify - Investigative Committee
Sergei Pomazun, who is suspected of killing six people in the center of Belgorod, has refused to testify, the Investigative Committee told Interfax.
"Pomazun is refusing to testify, referring to Article 51 of the Russian Constitution [entitling people not to testify against themselves or their close relatives]," the committee said.
Pomazun, who had previous convictions, shot and killed six people in Belgorod on April 22. He first shot two salespersons and a client of a local hunting store. Then, leaving the store, he also killed three accidental passersby, including two girls ages 14 and 16.
Police managed to capture Pomazun near the Belgorod railway station in the early hours of Wednesday. The suspect offered resistance and caused serious knife wounds to a policeman.
