Female MPs' petition to Yanukovych to pardon Tymoshenko sent to commission for pardons, says Presidential Administration
A petition of Ukrainian female parliamentarians to the Ukrainian president to pardon jailed former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has been sent to the Commission for Pardons under the President of Ukraine.
The presidential press service said on Friday that the commission will consider the petition and submit its proposals to Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
As reported, more than 20 female parliamentarians, including Lilia Hrynevych, Liudmyla Denisova, Oleksandra Kuzhel, Iryna Lutsenko, and Maria Matios, signed the petition and sent it to Yanukovych on April 18.
More than 100 various petitions for pardoning Tymoshenko have been sent to the president since the ex-premier's imprisonment.
