Spring floods pose no threat to Ukraine, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"Now we can say with full confidence that the worst is already over," he told reporters in Vyshgorod on Tuesday after inspecting the work of Kyiv hydroelectric power plant.

At the same time, he said that large amounts of water are expected to pass from the north in late April and added that Ukraine was ready to let such volumes of water through.
