Kyiv city head doesn't expect problems with spring flooding
The city of Kyiv doesn't expect any problems in connection with spring floods on the rivers, according to Oleksandr Popov, the head of Kyiv City State Administration.
"I think there will be no flooding in Kyiv," he told reporters on Wednesday during a visiting meeting on underwater siphons used to pump sewage from the right bank of the Dnieper in Kyiv to Bortnychi sewage treatment facility, which is located on the left bank.
In his words, the reason for the caution was the amount of snow fallen late in March. However, the snow melting peak is over, and the municipal sewage system has coped with water intake, he said.
