Parliament to consider question of elections in Kyiv at 1600
The morning meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday has ended, and the question of scheduling the elections of Kyiv mayor and Kyiv City Council deputies will be considered at the evening meeting at 1600.
An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Rybak stated at 1353 that two factions - the Party of Regions and the Communist Party – had requested a half-hour break for consultations.
After that, Rybak announced the closure of the morning meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, promising that the question of elections in Kyiv will be considered in the evening, from 1600.
This caused outrage and a flurry of shouts and cries from opposition members, as Rybak closed the meeting before the consideration of a draft resolution on the date of elections in Kyiv.
