Ukraine plans to buy over 2,000 school buses in 2013-2014
kraine, as part of the realization of the School Bus program, plans to buy 2,026 buses in 2013-2014, including 1,289 buses in 2014.
The plans are stipulated in the State Economic Stimulation Program for 2013-2014, which the cabinet approved under its resolution No. 187 on February 27 and published on its Web site on March 25.
According to the document, in 2013, the government plans to allocate UAH 165.9 million to buy 737 buses worth UAH 243.7 million, and UAH 77.8 million will be allocated from local budgets.
The financing for 2014 to buy 1,289 buses amounts to UAH 428.3 million, although the government does not plan allocations from the national budget for the purpose. Among the sources of financing are local budgets (UAH 70.2 million) and other sources (UAH 358.1 million).
As reported, Ukraine plans by September 2013 to finish the realization of the School Bus program approved in 2003 and prolonged in 2010.
In 2012, some 900 buses worth UAH 321 million were bought under the program. The buses were supplied by Etalon and UkrAVTO corporations, as well as AIS Group.
