Parliament fails to schedule Kyiv mayoral election
The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, has failed to schedule elections of Kyiv mayor and deputies of Kyiv City Council.
Mere 179 of the 401 MPs registered in the sitting hall on Thursday supported the instruction to schedule the elections for June 2, 2013.
The document was supported by seven members of the Regions Party faction, 84 Batkivschyna faction MPs, 33 Svoboda faction MPs, 37 UDAR faction MPs, and 18 independent MPs. The Communist Part faction refused to the support the instruction.
