Ukravtodor nearly completes repairs of main roads in Ukraine

As of March 10, the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) has patched potholes on 98% of public roads of national importance, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported on Monday.

Ukravtodor still has to repair 61 kilometer of state roads, the agency's management reported to Prime Minister Mykola Azarov on Monday.

The government's press service noted that this winter's adverse weather conditions left 2,631 kilometers of public roads significantly damaged, including with potholes, as of February 12, 2013, when the repairs started.

"Odesa-Melitopol-Novoazovsk, Kherson-Dzhankoy-Feodosiya-Kerch, Kharkiv-Simferopol-Alushta-Yalta, Kyiv-Znamyanka, Krasnoperekopsk-Simferopol, Kharkiv-Donetsk, Ulyanivka-Mykolaiv, Simferopol-Feodosiya motorways have been fully repaired after the damage caused by sudden changes of temperatures in winter," the report says.

The repairs of the Kyiv-Chernihiv-Novi Yarylovychi, Znamyanka-Luhansk-Izvaryne, Kyiv-Odesa, Kirovohrad-Platonove, Odesa-Reni, and a the northeast bypass around Kyiv are nearing completion.
